Patricia J. Kennedy, COMT, Coe, cPC, Cpma - SENIOR CONSULTANT

Patricia has been working in the ophthalmology and optometry industry for over 27 years. After graduating from Montana State University in 1984 with a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, she accepted a position in an ophthalmology practice in Seattle, Washington. After learning of her experience in her father’s microbiology lab and her heavy science-based academia, the owner of the practice began teaching Patricia about ophthalmology and patient care. From that point on she was hooked and has been in the ophthalmology industry ever since.

In 1986, Patricia earned her COT and succeeded in achieving her COMT certification in 1991. She became fascinated with new technology and ventured into ophthalmic diagnostic testing, working for EyeSys Technologies for several years. In 1996, Patricia returned to an ophthalmology practice as a clinic manager where she continued to improve her knowledge about the complexities of proper coding, documentation and regulatory issues. Over the last 10 years, she continued her career in ophthalmology and was also a consultant assisting clients with their practice management, reimbursement and compliance needs.

Patricia also has a love of teaching and for her, auditing and reporting results for clients is nothing short of teaching a new and sometimes complicated subject. She has also served as quest speaker, moderator and adviser at many local, state and national ophthalmology meetings across the country.
