How would you like to be a recipient of the prestigious William E. Rose, Jr., Pinnacle Award? The Award, sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) is presented in memory of William E. (Bill) Rose, Jr., for his dedication and quest to educate ASOA members about coding and reimbursement and his commitment to promoting the highest Medicare reimbursement standards and practices for the specialty of ophthalmology.

To be a recipient of the award, a practice must demonstrate excellence through one or more of the following criteria or in other ways that reflect the purpose of this award:

Outstanding achievement in developing and implementing exemplary policies and guidelines to help protect the practice from erroneous or fraudulent billing practices.

Exceptional efforts to maintain compliance with government regulations by providing continued training and education of all billing staff.

Implementation of an internal audit program to minimize billing mistakes and reduce chances of fraudulent or abusive Medicare billing.

Development of open lines of communication with staff to ensure that billing errors are identified and immediate corrective actions taken.

Winners of the Rose Pinnacle Award are announced each year at the opening session of the ASOA Annual Congress on Ophthalmic Practice Management in each of the following categories (1) solo practice, (2) small group practice, and (3) large group practice.
